Norfolk Retreat
10-17 September 2027
Practices exploring the Chakras

This 7-night retreat will be an opportunity for truly focussed practice using the the profound paradigm of the Chakras.

Whilst we will explore some of the theory and symbolism of the Chakras, the heart of the week will be centred around practice and personal experience.

Working with the Chakras opens us up to the possibility of change in our lives on a day to day basis and also to realising the most fundamental level of our being - that which is symbolised by Sahasrara chakra.

There will be the usual hatha yoga classes, Yoga Nidra and, like all our retreats, we will include walks and trips out, and some wonderful home-cooked food.

Venue and Accommodation

For this retreat we will be staying at Church Farm Barns in north west Norfolk.  We use two beautifully converted barns that are spacious, where there are some lovely outside spaces for enjoying the magnificent countryside views, open sky and sunsets.  There is a choice of rooms with either single or twin/double rooms.  Most rooms are en-suite or the bathrooms are shared with just one other room.

We use the communal space in one barn for our yoga practice and in the other for socialising and eating.  There are countryside walks from the front door and a range of lovely sitting areas within both houses for relaxing with a good book or talking with new friends.

Practices

Retreats provide an ideal opportunity to explore and develop your yoga and meditation practice.  Throughout the weekend practices are built up systematically to ensure that whether you are new to yoga or an experienced practitioner you have the opportunity to truly explore the possibilities that lie within these time tested techniques. We hope you will leave with a wealth of practices and experiences to take back into your daily life.

Tulsi (Nickie) and Nick (Sw SatyaDaya) are passionate about the practices they share and aim to make these accessible and meaningful to all who attend.

The Chakras are one of the most well-known, and well loved, paradigms within Yoga. They represent the different frequencies through which primal energy, prana, expresses through each of us as embodied beings.

Each of us, as a natural consequence of the ups and downs of life, will have blockages, or impediments, to the harmonious functioning of each of the chakras. We all know what it feels like to be stuck or restricted in certain areas of our life.

By focused practice on the Chakra system we can slowly begin to remove these blockages which, in time, can lead to a more balanced and joyful experience of the personality and life. This can lead to a more meaningful existence where we spontaneously embody our full potential.

As well as these very practical benefits, working with the Chakras is a profound practice than opens us up to the realization of the spiritual dimension of our being.

Throughout this retreat we will use asana, pranayama, mantra, visualisation and meditation as means to sensitise us to, and catalyse transformation in, each of the chakras.
